It is a mitzvah to help support our Jewish community. Jewish holidays and joyous lifecycle occasions - such as bar/bat mitzvah, engagements, weddings, births/baby namings - are all wonderful opportunities to make a donation to one of our funds. Times of sadness - funerals, unveilings, shiva minyanim - offer an opportunity to both honor the memories of our loved ones and express gratitude to the community that has supported mourners at these difficult times.
The United Jewish Center recommends donations to the following Funds:
General:
Shalom Fund
Used to cover religious and educational programs and other expenses not covered by our Dues.
School Funds:
Ruth Gruber Religious School Fund
Michael S Davon School Fund
Used to cover unbudgeted school activities
Caring Community:
Rabbi Robert N. Levine Tikvah Fund
To help the truly needy in our community. To meet individuals’ needs that are basic to their survival, i.e. food, clothing, shelter. Funds can be allocated in the Greater Danbury area, in the nation, in Israel and throughout the world
Infrastructure:
Capital Fund
Elevator Fund
Pearl and Jack Marcus Tree of Life Fund
Used for building improvements at 141 Deer Hill. There is also a special fund for the installation of an elevator.
Clergy:
Cantor Penny Kessler Discretionary Fund
Used by our Clergy for religious, educational and charitable purposes as they direct. Traditionally used to mark a special occasion.
Shabbat:
Helen Svonkin Honor the Shabbat Fund
Used to provide the refreshments when needed at the Shabbat morning Kiddush for which no prior arrangements have been made.
Books:
Feinson Library Fund
Malvina Rothman Library and Prayerbook Fund
Helen & Leroy Paltrowitz Prayerbook Fund
Used to buy books for the library and prayer books for services.

The United Jewish Center building is OPEN! Services are being held Friday nights at 7pm and Saturday mornings at 10:00 am in person and online. Congregation members should check their email for online access instructions.
Following CDC guidelines, please use your discretion about wearing masks and social distancing.
