Any good party has to be prepared for -- this one was a year or so in the making.
Here are some last minute touches being made.
The guests gathered outside for a delicious round of appetizers
Everyone then came inside and gathered at the tables
Did someone mention cows? Seven cows were auctioned off and others were available for purchase.
We were taught a few line dances
Many honors were bestowed on Michael -- proclamations by Governor Rell, Attorney General Blumenthal, and Mayor Boughton were followed by
a gift (a glass cow -- what else) and stories told by Michael's sons
The entertainment was superb -- a set by the Marcus singers followed by a solo by Annette Marcus
We finally let Michael get in a few words to a standing ovation
And like any good country Jewish event, we ended by dancing the hora
